Overview
The NSW Budget Papers serve as a vital resource for citizens, offering transparency into the allocation of taxpayer funds, unveiling new services, and tracking key performance indicators set by the NSW Government for the fiscal year 2023-24.
Task
My responsibilities encompassed extensive preparatory efforts, including coordinating with all NSW Government departments to gather imagery for the reports. This involved curating a diverse image library. Additionally, I oversaw the development of a new design style, drawing inspiration from our standard NSW Gov branding visual style guide, to ensure a unique and cohesive look for this project. Amidst challenges posed by collaborating with a new government unfamiliar with budget processes, I crafted all cover designs and oversaw the creation of the Overview section. Ensuring consistency across reports and covers, particularly in obtaining stakeholder agreement on imagery, proved to be the most challenging aspect. Throughout, I provided guidance on AI-driven photo retouching to optimize workflow efficiency and coordinated with the other designers to maintain alignment with the established design template.
